Safari for Windows : Remove History Items After One Day

For privacy reasons, remove items from Safari's History list after only one day.

Depending on your configuration, when viewing Safari's "History" list of previously-accessed websites, these sites may remain in the list for one month or longer. While this lets you easily find previously-viewed sites without having to remember their web addresses or use search engines to find them, if multiple people access your PC, this may violate your privacy.

Windows Vista - Start Menu - Taskbar - Toolbars : Expand or Clear List of Recent Programs Displayed on Start Menu

Expand the list of recently-accessed programs displayed on the Windows Vista Start Menu, or clear this list altogether.

By default, Windows Vista's Start Menu displays a list of recently-accessed programs directly above the "All Programs" link. This way you can quickly run frequently-used applications without having to find them again via the "All Programs" link or other shortcuts.

If desired, you can expand the size of the Start Menu to show more programs, useful if you access many applications and want quicker access to them via this menu. Also, you can contract the size of the Start Menu to show fewer programs. Or, for privacy reasons, you can completely remove this list altogether. ...

Microsoft Outlook 2007 : Never Allow Meeting Attendees to Propose New Times

Prevent attendees from proposing new times when you send out meeting requests in Outlook 2007.

When you send out meeting requests in Microsoft Outlook 2007, you can choose whether or not attendees can propose new times. This is done by clicking on the "Responses" button in the "Attendees" section of the Ribbon when sending out a new meeting request, then unchecking the "Allow New Time Proposals" box when the popup menu appears.

If most of your meeting requests require specific times that should not be changed, you can change Outlook's default so that every meeting request you send disallows new time proposals....

Merry Christmas! A fun site for the young and young at heart, NORAD (the North American Aerospace Defense Command) has set up a worldwide Santa Claus tracker website.

Powered by Google, you can view Santa's location as he zips across the world in his reindeer sleigh delivering toys. Click on visited locations for pictures, and selected locations including the Great Wall of China even have videos of his 'visit' via the "Santa Cam". There are also links to encyclopedia entries for each location, so your children can learn as they wait for their presents....

Windows Vista - Windows Media Center : Remove Invalid or Unwanted Channels from Guide

If the TV Program Guide in Windows Media Center displays channels you cannot get in your area or those you do not care to watch, remove these listings.

Safari for Windows : Disable Java Applets

Prevent Safari from executing Java applets.

Like most other web browsers, Safari for Windows supports the execution of Java applets, allowing for added interactivity and other features in web pages.

While Java applets run in a secure sandbox that usually prevents untrusted code from running or damaging the system, it is possible that a previously-unknown exploit in Java may exist. If a malicious applet runs, it could compromise your security. Thus, you may wish to disable this feature. Note that doing so may prevent some webpages from displaying correctly, however....

Microsoft Access 2003 : Remove the Startup Task Pane
